The Owners
Spindlewood Lodges is a group of seven Scandanavian log cabins situated in the heart of Somerset. It was created 18 years ago - Linda and Peter Norris are only the second owners .
We took over the business nine years ago when we moved from Buckinghamshire, having spent most of our lives working in London in sales and marketing roles. We both loved Somerset and used to have a weekend cottage in East Coker - just 30 mins away from Spindlewood. When a friend mentioned that Spindlewood was for sale, we jumped at the chance to move to this beautiful part of the countryside with our son Michael, who was then aged just 5 years old - now aged 15!.
We do all the cleaning, maintenance, and of course welcoming you to the lodges ourselves - with a little help from our resident chickens! Connie, Myrtle, Sylvie and Midnight often visit the lodge verandahs in the day time but will return to their coop at night. We also have two ducks - Expresso and Latte - but whilst you may hear them quacking from time to time, they are a little shy and keep themselves to themselves!
The lodges are set in 10 acres of meadow, with a small orchard of apple and plum trees in one corner and we always invite residents to help themselives to the produce if they are staying when they are in season.
We look forward to welcoming you to Spindlewood Lodges.
